Format Mini Writers’ Festival
Lisa Dempster, renowned publisher and all-round cutie, is putting together a mini writerly festival in Adelaide to coincide with the Format zine fair this year.  More info: Lisa Dempster or Format.  I believe I will be thurr on a panel regarding distribution.

ZINE FAIR – In association w/ Sydney Writer’s Festival
Venue: Museum of Contemporary Art
Times: 11:00am to 5:00pm
This zine fair has more than 40 stallholders & some panels going on at the same time.  Info on the panels is here: (link).  Bird in the Hand and friends are located close to the bar – Tables 1,2,3 etc.  Hope to see you there! Come say hello and buy some of our 70+ zines!!!!

May 31 – Melbourne
ZINE FAIR & OTHER INDEPENDENT MEDIA
Venue: The Atrium, Federation Square
Times: 12:00pm-5:00pm
Loads of zinesters and wordsmiths selling everything from posters to mooks,  zines and literary journals.  Make sure you come and say hello to Bird in the Hand and our wonderful NSW friends at Shelbyville.

June 3 – Adelaide
BIG! Art exhibition
The kids behind Format Festival (link) have organised a grand exhibition in a huge space.  They’ve gathered together an array of artfolk from around Australia and they’ll be presenting it somewhat eclectically in the space.

ZINE SHOP OPENING!!!

LO-FI & LOVING IT – BIRD IN THE HAND PRESENTS
Bird in the Hand Zine Distro have sourced some of Sydney’s finest zinesters and are presenting their zines here for you to take home for small change.

There’ll be plenty going on in the big room downstairs at the MCA.  Make sure you pop on down!  And check out the rest of the Creative Sydney program to find things to entertain yourselves.  There’s plenty of uh-may-zing stuff going on! (link)
